This cinnamon swirl French toast is perfect for anyone who loves a sweet, decadent breakfast. The best part, it's done in under 15 minutes with only a handful of ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 - 6 thick slices of cinnamon swirl bread or brioche bread
  • 2 eggs - medium size
  • 60 ml ( 1/4 cup) milk or heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp sugar - regular sugar or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • toppings of your choice - e.g. fresh berries, fruit compote, maple syrup, powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. In a wide, shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. 
  • Add one tablespoon of butter to the pan and let it melt. Meanwhile, dip two slices of bread into the egg mixture, let it soak for a few seconds, flip it over and make sure that both sides are covered with the mixture. 
  • Place the slices in the pan and cook until golden brown over medium heat, about 2 -3 minutes on each side. Repeat with the remaining slices. 
  • Serve it hot with fresh berries, maple syrup or any other toppings of your choice.
